There are major Rezoning Plans in the works for the16,450 Acres Bordering Hawaiian Ocean View Ranchos in the Ocean View area of the Ka`u District. Applications are being prepared for numerous projects, including; Hotels,Golf Courses, an Airport, as well as, Housing, Commercial and Industrial Developments above Pohue Bay.

Also, In the recently rejuvinated area of Honu`apo a draft Resourses Management Plan for the 225 Acres calls for Pavillions, New Roads and more Campsites to accommodate Visitors, Community Functions and Camping at Whittington Beach Park.
